Minutes of the Tumby Parish Council Meeting held on Monday 2nd September 2024 at 7.30pm in New York Lecture Hall.

Public Forum
Fifteen minutes were allocated for members of the public to speak. No members of the public were present at the meeting.
1517. Welcome by Chairman
Cllr Wilson welcomed everyone to the meeting.
1518. Apologies for Absence
There were no apologies for absence brought to the meeting.
1519. Declarations of Interest
There were no Declarations of Interest brought before the meeting.
1520. Minutes
Draft minutes of the meeting held on Monday 20th May 2024 had been circulated prior to the meeting. It was proposed by Cllr Spurrier and seconded by Cllr Hodgson that these be accepted as a true and accurate record. All in favour. Cllr Wilson duly signed the minutes.
1521. Highways
There is a pothole along Chapel Road near to the entrance of Station Farm. The condition of the laybys is deteriorating, these need regular maintenance. Thanks were expressed to Cllr Ashton for his hard work in securing a 40mph in Tumby Woodside. Concerns were raised about a van which is parking just round the school bend.
1522. Planning
S/189/00964/23 – Land at Meadow Farm, Tumby Moorside Road, Tumby Moorside – Erection of two storey house – Amended plans being submitted but not yet received.
S/189/01146/24 – Land adjacent to Fir Tree Cottage, Chapel Road, Tumby Woodside, PE22 7SP – Conversion, extensions, and alterations of a barn to a dwelling, erection of a garage and tractor store

And change of use of land to domestic curtilage - The site has already been subject to a prior notification application whereby approval was granted for the conversion of the existing agricultural barn to a dwelling. The proposal is to conduct the same extension but with a 3.8m extension.
1523. Accounts
The following cheques were presented to the meeting for payment:
S Kulwicki – Internal Audit – Cheque No. 372 - £4.00
HMRC -PAYE – Cheque No. 373 - £30.00 .
A Appleyard – Salary – Cheque No. 374 - £122.49
It was proposed by Cllr Spurrier and seconded by Cllr Hodgson that the payments be approved. All in favour.
1524. Police Matters.
There have been a number of petty thefts in the area, particularly strimmer’s, chainsaws, and other garden equipment.
1525. Correspondence
Correspondence had been circulated prior to the meeting. Correspondence included LALC E-News and the LALC Training Bulletin, a temporary road closure and the Town and Parish Council Newsletter.
1526. Parish Matters
A number of roadside trees and bushes within the Parish need a good cut back to avoid hanging over the highway.
Discussions took place regarding the flooding earlier in the year and what the Environment Agency are doing about conducting necessary repairs. They have repaired the breach in Coningsby. The repair still has not been done at the gravel pits.
Also discussed were the proposed pylons from Grimsby to Walpole and what effect this would have on the County.

The next meeting of Tumby Parish Council will be held on Monday 25th November at 7.30pm in New York Lecture Hall.
There being no further business the meeting closed at 8.04pm.
